"Sometimes life takes you to unexpected places. At short notice I had the opportunity to visit Vietnam with my husband who was traveling there for work. Although hot and not the right time of year to visit I enjoyed the contrast this small country has to offer. I was told that Vietnam has 4 narrows, narrow country, narrow roads, narrow people and narrow buildings. Real estate is expensive and that’s the reason for tall narrow buildings. It is also beneficial for typhoons. We stayed the entire trip in Da Nang a coastal city in Northern Vietnam. Wonderful old architecture to be seen with the French influence still very much evident. I was fascinated by the size of the bonsai trees at a temple. I can’t even imagine how old they were."
